Graphic Design and Digital Arts, UAL Extended Diploma
Level 3
This is an exciting course that integrates many different approaches to graphic design. You will be given live briefs that are engaging, informative, skill building, and experimental, and you will collaborate with industry professionals as real clients, to develop and advance your design skills.
You will explore a broad range of graphic design and art processes and gain an in-depth understanding of visual communication. This course covers 2D, 3D, and time-based subjects, and you will develop skills in digital illustration and graphic techniques, including hand rendered design, typography, print, and layout design.
You will learn to manage professional projects from research and idea development through to fully realised graphic solutions, and you will gain experience in presenting your ideas to a range of audiences.
You will be taught by talented lecturers who have extensive experience in the industry and a passion for design. They will guide you as you experiment with a variety of new graphic art and design techniques. You will work in a graphics studio and in a state-of-the-art Mac suite, to create corporate identities, packaging, and advertising.
You’ll become part of our Creative Arts Career Excellence Hub, which is endorsed by leading industry partners, who are actively involved throughout your whole training programme. This provides unrivalled access to potential employers and the opportunity to develop your creative network. You will benefit from work experience opportunities, guest lectures and masterclasses from renowned artists, visits to leading galleries and museums, and international trips to inspire your work.
As part of this study programme, you will develop your maths and English skills, and attend tutorials and Individual Development (ID). You will also complete an extended industry placement. All aspects of your study programme will be discussed at your interview.
Become part of Creative Arts Weston, a career-focused College and University Centre, housed within a vibrant and supportive environment, which encourages collaboration with your peers, lecturers and the creative industries to give you the skills and opportunities you need to kick-start your career.
